Community Meetings

Voting:
All decisions at Community Group meetings, Steering Committee meetings, or Special meetings shall be made by consensus or modified consensus.
Purpose:
Meetings shall be for conducting the business of DCS.

Community Agenda:

  1. Staff & Principal Reports
  2. Committee Reports (Heads will give brief reports of what committee is working on).
  3. Steering Report (What we have, are and will discuss).
  4. New Business/Open Forum/Committee Meetings

This is a reminder that DCS community meetings are intended to be for the DCS Parent Group only.

Steering Meetings

Hallowe'en project
Members:
Chairpersons, Secretary, Treasurers, Teachers & Principal, Committee Heads.
- ANY COMMUNITY MEMBER MAY ATTEND STEERING MEETINGS -
Voting:
Every member of the Community group present at any meeting may participate in consensus decisions.
Agenda:
1.   Minutes Accepted
2.   Chairs & Secretary: action items & proposal follow-ups
3.   Agenda Addition Forms
4.   New business
Duties:
  1. Coordinate standing & ad hoc committee activities.
  2. Review & approve the procedures & activities of all committees.
  3. Provide notice to all community members of know issues to be discussed prior to Steering meetings.
  4. Make decisions on the functional business of DCS, in accordance with established DCS polices, DCS procedures, and DCS philosophy. The Steering Committee retains the option to bring certain business to the Community Group meeting for final decision.
  5. Inform the Community Group of decisions made, at the next Community Group meetings.
  6. Develop recommendations on DCS philosophy, DCS policy or DCS procedure changes for presentation to the Community Group for final approval.
  7. Authorize expenditures of up to $250 from the DCS fund.
  8. Appoint temporary officers in the event that a position becomes vacant.
